A great day was had at St Thomas’s on our recent visit to the course. It is a challenging course but as ever with golf very rewarding when you get the shot right. This course is very picturesque and the new bar that they have just built is perfect, especially when you are at the half way point. That’s right, the Bar has become the halfway house as well as Bar 19 - very clever designing. This course is definitely reaching for the top of the tree and it won’t take long to get there at this rate. Hole 18 is a drive across the lakes through a tree lined avenue. A true mind bender at the end of the course. There are several other feature holes on the way round. Everyone at the clubhouse from the staff to the members made us feel very welcome and we would definitely look at visiting again in the near future."

Along with 2 friends we enjoyed our first visit to your club - despite the weather. The course was very challenging but great fun. Catering was good and all the staff were helpful and we got a nice welcome from your Seniors captain on our arrival. I am Treasurer of Newton Regis Golf Society near Tamworth and intend to bring the society to your club next season. If you want a course that will challenge all handicaps, then this is the one. Several very tough holes, including the 10th with 2 blind shots and the 18th with a very psychological tee shot over water / between trees which can ruin a good round in one hole. The green keeper does a good job with consistent green speeds and challenging pin positions. Stays open all year due to the fact that it just does not get wet. I have played this course in the middle of winter and used proper tees and greens. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area."

If you want a course, which is open 12 months of the year, this just doesn't suffer from flooding. Young course but maturing all the time. New greenkeeper is doing a grand job. Fantastic finishing hole and very tough 10th hole stroke index 1 par 4, which can be two blind shots to reach the green over two hills.

Hawkesyard Hall and the Estate are simply stunning. I was unaware of this fantastic location until recently and have to say I am so happy I discovered this great venue. We came and visited the golf course and experienced a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The golf course has some very interesting holes with every one having its own character keeping you on your toes and making you use everything from your driver down to your pitching wedge to tee off. The greens have got to be some of the best I have ever played on, a real gem of a course. This course is a little on the hilly side and may be advisable to use a buggy but we would walk around just for the exercise. Looking forward to going back to play again to take in the course again in the view of possibly becoming a member."

On behalf of the Rifleman's Arms Golf Society, I would like to thank you and your team for a well organised and enjoyable golf day at St. Thomas's Priory on 30 June 2010.The facilities and service were commendable, from the bacon and coffee welcome to the complimentary practice balls and the rangers’ constant guide and attention, especially when spotting our balls from the 1st and 10th tees.
The meal was excellent and served by smiling and attentive staff. You even managed to arrange a 'heat wave' so the buggies were a godsend.

Just a quick thank you to all at the club, we had a very good day we all enjoyed the course, it was the first time all of us have played it and we all said that we would need to play it again. We were well looked after by the Marshall around the course who was very attentive and helped spotting over the blind holes on 1 and 10. One of our guys on the tricky hole 10 got an Eagle 2 which made us all very surprised. Too many points for a Stableford with 2 shots give to him on the hole as well. Once again thank you for all your help to make the day a pleasant one, I am sure we will return in the near future. "

Weddings

I just felt I had to write to say thank you for making the day so magical for Jamie and Frances on Saturday.  Being Jamie's Mum, I obviously wanted them to have a perfect day, and they certainly did.

We have had so many wonderful comments from the other guests, comments like 'one of the best weddings' and even 'the best wedding I have been to' from different people and I am delighted the day was so lovely for them.

We thought everything was perfect: the beautiful setting of the venue, the wedding breakfast, the evening buffet and the entertainment made the wedding so special for Jamie and Frances.  Everything was so well organised, thanks to you and your staff, and I know they will have so many wonderful memories of the day, as will all the other guests at the wedding.

Thank you again for helping to make the day so magical for them in such a special place - it is a day we will never forget.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for such great organisation at our wedding,  It was an amazing day and everything went to plan, the staff were all great and the master of ceremonies was great, we really didn't expect so much attention from the staff but everything was taken out of our hands on arrival and we were left to enjoy the whole reception.
Thank you to Hugh and Sarah for the pre-organisation, I know from organising weddings myself that brides can be picky and change their mind more than once!, but any changes made were all taken in your stride and altered with no stress involved.

We had friends and family from around the world at the wedding and they have all commented on a wonderful venue and first class service.

Masonic Widows Luncheon

I just wanted to say a big 'thank you' to you and all of your staff for the wonderful night that we had on Friday. The pupils had a great time, and every aspect of the night went swimmingly!

I was particularly impressed with the fact that staff on the night did not treat us as a 'group of rowdy teenagers', but rather were professional and courteous in every way: a credit to St Thomas Priory.

Infact, we had such a good time that we'd like to book again for next year!

Thank you also, Sarah, for your help in organising the event. From my point of view, it was very reassuring knowing that it was being hanled with such professionalism and thought.
